Easter Overload
I know I am a bit late on posting all this stuff but we have kind of been a little crazy busy these past few weeks and so blogging has not been top priority. But we had a fun time up at Mauga and Bompas on the Saturday before Easter. Kaysia didn't quite understand why she was supposed to run like a madman and pick up the colored eggs but once she found out they had candy in them she was totally down. She even decided to eat everyone elses candy while no one was looking. It was so nice to see everyone and enjoy good company (and FOOD)! We are really going to miss all the family gatherings this summer!

NOT for the FAINT of HEART
I am not totally sure but I THINK Ty is trying to see just how many times he can get surgery this year! I don't have any pics of post surgery yet but here are a few of the crime scene and post ER visit! In case you are wondering what the heck I am talking about...
Ty made brownies about 3 weeks ago for his home teachees. However, they didn't get covered and dried out so much they became bricklike. He tried to pry them out of the pan with a knife and when they finally popped loose the knife slipped up and went right into his hand. You can only imagine his response to seeing blood splash on the walls and pool in his hand. We rushed him to the ER and they sewed him up but told us he needed to see a hand surgeon because he had lost feeling in two fingers. Well to make a LONG story short he had to get surgery to repair two nerves and so now we just have to wait and see if he gets feeling back! Now would be an excellent time for anyone who wants to revenge themselves in golf! :)

Run 1/2 Marathon-Check!
I DID IT! I ran my 1st HALF MARATHON! I definitely didn't run it in my initial goal time but considering the fact that I haven't run more than 1-2miles at a time since the end of February due to severely painful overuse injuries...I am just proud that I was able to finish the race at all! The weather didn't help with the wind and the snow beating down with every step but surprisingly I still really enjoyed myself. I will admit around mile 11 I was ready to find a nice piece of road to lie down on and die but thanks to some cute girls I met on the trail I kept running through the pain and ended up finishing strong!
My parents, Tyler and Kaysia were standing about 100 feet before the finish line cheering when I came around the corner and they gave me that extra boost of energy I needed to sprint the last bit to the end! Knowing that they would be there really helped keep me going during the rough patches along the trail and I couldn't be more grateful for all the love and support I felt as I was running.
I especially just have to tell Tyler how much I appreciate his support through all of this. The past 12 weeks he has been so understanding and helpful as I have spent quite a bit of time training. Not only that but he has put up with me being extremely tired and has weathered all the ups and downs that come with preparing for such an event! So thanks babe. I really owe you big time!!!
Okay I know this has turned into a novel. But here are some pictures from the last few feet of the race! It was so cold we didn't get too many pics but here are at least a few.
